See how the Society is Organized
The Central Council office helps the District Offices and Conferences to develop their spiritual life, to intensify their service and to diversify their activities so that they may always be responsive to the needs of those who suffer.
Conferences are particularly called to: create new Conferences, to help existing Conferences to expand, to promote Special Works, to prepare training courses and encourage Vincentians to attend them, to foster interest in cooperation with the Vincentian Family, to promote cooperation with other organizations and institutions, to develop friendship between members in the same area, to provide communication to and from Conferences. In summary, to promote the sense of belonging to a Society that encircles the world.
See Central Council contact Information.
A District Council oversees Conferences that are grouped together to form a District. A District Council President oversees each Conference within this geographical area.
There are currently 6 Districts under the Central Council of St Petersburg Diocese. Each District Council President is a voting member of the Board. District Councils evolved as a means to keep individual Conferences in communication with each other and united in spirit.

Our organization is made up of chapters called “Conferences”. Conferences are parish and/or community based groups of lay volunteers that provide direct services and referrals to the poor and needy individuals and families. By becoming personally involved in helping the poor in their community, Conference members seek to grow and develop in their spiritual lives.
In the parish, Conferences work closely with their pastor and congregation to serve the poor in their local community. Conferences obtain funding through regular and special collections at the parish, fund raising drives and member donations.
Every conference has been established to meet the needs in their own specific areas. The Society of St Vincent de Paul in the Tampa Bay Area, within the
Diocese of St Petersburg, has grown to 45 participating parishes with numerous Vincentian volunteers in the diocese.
Serving Christ’s needy is the first purpose of the Society of St Vincent de Paul. The members of the Society have quietly answered the calls of thousands of people who have reached out to us for
help.
